The GSMA recently launched a first of its kind IoT Big Data directory for developers and third parties worldwide. The directory makes multiple data sources available to the IoT community to encourage harmonised data set sharing in order for IoT developers, data brokers and providers, to realise their full potential.
“A common, collaborative and interoperable approach to big data will remove the commercial and technical barriers to capitalising on the IoT opportunity and usher in a new era of IoT solutions that will help the market to scale. We encourage mobile operators to collaborate with the wider industry to benefit from the big data opportunity.” said Alex Sinclair, Chief Technology Officer, GSMA.
As mobile operators are key to the success of delivering an IoT big data system, a secondary document, the IoT Big Data Framework, defines how they can best approach this initiative.
The GSMA will showcase this work at the Innovation City (Hall 4 Stand 4A30) at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, next week.
eServGlobal is also exhibiting at Mobile World Congress this year. Visit us at stand 7J30 where you can experience an interactive demonstration of how service providers can benefit from analytics and consultancy through the Apeiron dashboard for better business, liquidity and fraud management.
